Cookie Policy
What treel.ai stores in your browser, what each item is for, how long it lasts, and how to change your mind. Nothing here is boilerplate — every entry below was measured on the live site.

What this covers
This site is treel.ai, operated by Techery. A cookie is a small text record a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. We also use one entry in your browser's local storage, which behaves like a cookie for the purposes of this policy, except that it is never sent to any server.
We keep this list short on purpose. There are two categories: things the site needs to work, and analytics you can accept or decline.
Remembering your cookie choice
When you accept or reject analytics, we record that choice so the banner does not reappear on every page. This is stored in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie, and it never leaves your device.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
treel.consent.v1 |
treel.ai | Records whether you accepted or rejected analytics, and when. Contains only true/false flags and a timestamp — no identifier. |
Until you clear your browser data or change your choice |
No consent is needed for this one: without it, we could not honour your decision.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages people read, roughly where visitors come from, and whether the site is working. It sets two cookies, both on our own domain. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they are set only after you choose Accept all; before that, and if you reject, nothing is set.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | A random identifier for your browser, so Google Analytics can tell a returning visitor from a new one. It does not contain your name, email, or anything we know about you. | 400 days |
_ga_SQRBY6QWED |
Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current session for our Analytics property — when it started, how many sessions you have had, and whether it is still active. | 400 days |
Because the identifier in _ga is stable across visits, the law treats it as personal data even though it is anonymous to us. That is why we ask first.
Who receives the data
Analytics data goes to Google Ireland Limited (for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) or Google LLC, acting as our processor. The site loads the tag from googletagmanager.com and sends events to google-analytics.com. Google's own description of how it handles this data is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Before you consent, the tag sends a single signal to Google that carries no cookies and no identifier — it exists only so Google knows consent has not been given. Nothing about you is stored from it.
We do not run advertising or marketing pixels on this site. If that changes, this page will change with it and the banner will ask you separately.
Changing your mind
You can revisit your choice at any time:
- Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to reopen the banner.
- Clear cookies and site data for treel.ai in your browser — this removes the analytics cookies and your stored choice, and the banner will ask again.
- Block third-party or all cookies in your browser settings. The site works without any of the cookies listed above.
Withdrawing consent stops future analytics. It does not delete data Google has already collected; for that, Google offers the Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
